Ultimate Kitchen French Press Coffee Maker, 1 Liter (4 cups)

Having heard good things for years about French presses, I decided to buy this one after being assured such coffee makers were easy to use. The only somewhat unsatisfactory aspect of this press is the fact that a few coffee grounds usually end up in my cup--thus, the lack of a five-star rating. However, it's a simple matter to pour the coffee through a strainer for a ground-free cup. The press is inexpensive, easy to clean, and makes excellent, full-bodied coffee. It makes up to a pint and three-fourths, but my cup holds a full pint (500 ml), all the coffee I need for the day. I pour filtered water into a pint Pyrex measuring cup in the evening so that it will be room temperature in the morning, then put five tablespoons of coffee beans into my hand-cranked burr grinder. (Don't use a blade grinder because of the inconsistency of the grinding, which can cause a lot of small pieces to slip through the filter.) In the morning, I place the measuring cup in the microwave on high for five minutes, hand-crank the little burr grinder (which is set for the coarse grind required by the French press), pour the ground beans into the carafe, and wait for the water to bubble. When it does, I pour half of it into the carafe, stir with a wooden or plastic spoon, and after 30 seconds pour the remaining water in. After 3 1/2 more minutes, the plunger is pressed down slowly, and the coffee is ready to enjoy. It may sound like more trouble than you want to deal with, but it's easy and the resulting coffee makes everything worthwhile. Remember to use a burr grinder, not a blade grinder.

Kasda AC1200 Dual Band Wireless Router

First things first.. I AM an expert on routers - senior network engineer to be specific. This is flat out an AMAZING router once you realize it has one primary limitation - it has 10/100 NIC in the WAN port. Not a problem if you don't have more than 100Mbps, but if you do this one won't work for you and you should upgrade to the 6516 model which has a 10/100/1000 NIC. I have both and have extensively tested both.

Setup is easy, the method they give is to connect to the SSID this broadcasts by default and configure it through that using the login/password on a sticker at the bottom of the device. My PREFERRED method is to boot this router up, plug in a patch cable to ETH1 port, and then browse on your laptop to 192.168.1.1.. At that point you will be asked to set a password - I recommend something easy 'for now' (Password1234, etc), you will change this later.

If you are new to routers you can run through the setup wizard, it's self explanatory asking questions like DHCP on your wan (USUALLY this is what you want), DNS to use (I recommend DYNDNS - google it), all of the basics. Once all of that is done, and if you connected using my method above then you will kill off the default SSID's and enter your own SSID's and passwords. Remember to use the format of SSID_optout_nomap so for example your home SSID's may look like this: MyCoolHouse_optout_nomap..(nomap must be last!) The reason you use _optout_nomap is one turns off Google using your SSID to spy on people and locate you. The other disables Windows spying on your WiFi and using it for location identifiers. A GOOD feature of this router is the fact you can set exclusive 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz networks with different SSIDs - this is the recommended method and this router supports this - as well as ISOLATED guest network functionality.

Now on to the good stuff.. For techies and reasonably competent people immediately click on the 'Advanced' tab at the top to get rid of the consumer level configuration. Now the fun begins! It really has a nice linux underpinning to it! The first thing you should do is go to the Kasda support website and download the latest firmware, and upgrade it. Period! The second thing you should do is disable SSH and WPS on this router. Don't ask why, please just do it. Range wise, this is impressive! Easily matching the range and power of my Unifi Pro access point.

Bluetooth Wireless Headphones with Flipbelt

This is a great idea for a bundle. I have been using similar wireless headphones for the last year or so and it certainly makes a difference for running (not having to deal with the cord). These headphones are good... they're waterproof and have decent connectivity. Probably four out of five stars for just the headphones. But combined with the very light (e.g. minimalist) running belt and this is well deserving of five stars. I hate that most belts are cumbersome and impede running. Not so with this one, it is very small and light weight. Great package.

The package is very good, comfortable, nice and easy to open everything. The color is really good just as bright as needed. It's very smooth and safeThis earbuds are so easy to wear, including that they don't hurt or annoy my ears. The instructions are nicely specific and clear. It charges really fast, and then I could just listen to the music for as long as I could. Earbuds tell me when I need to charge it or when it's on/off. I can hear the music very clearly as well as that I can control the sound, answer calls, skip or pause the songs. I enjoy them and the music when I'm running, cleaning or doing any sort of activity. I totally recommend it to everyone.

love these! I've had the hardest time trying to find a pair of headphones that doesn't break after a little while when i use them during exercise. And I've always had trouble with earbuds, as they always either break or won't stay in my ear well. I tried wireless bluetooth variety too, but had issues with connectivity, so that if I didn't position my phone just right in my pocket, I would lose the signal. Very frustrating. These headphones do everything I need. They fit in my ear comfortably and have had no problems with them popping out due to sweat. The bluetooth signal remains strong with my phone no matter what exercise I'm doing. And they fold up really well too. The design is actually very clever. I hope these continue to last, as I'm really enjoying them.

Wireless headphones nesbeat SHAPE5

 After getting my Shape5 in the mail I first looked at the packaging, which turned out to be a lot better and more professional that I expected. With that first look, I decided I may have to change my mind of how I was going to look at these, not merely do they work for that price, but how do they compare to say a Bose set of wireless earphones. NesBeat says that these things are great and have a lot of the same features many of the more expensive earphones have on the market place. So lets take a look and see what I was able to find.

 So checking what comes in the box you get a nice carrying hard-shell pouch, for easy storage, along with 4 sets of different eartips, a small, medium and large gel type and a medium foam type. They are very comfortable and after using these around the house as well as on a run, they fit nicely and do not fall out.

 Looking at the earphones themselves, we see they have the normal over the ear hook which helps tremendously while working out or running to keep these headphones in. You can see that the earphones are a little larger than I expected, but that works well because of the buttons. Looking at the buttons, we move to the right side which has the power button on the side, which lets you turn them on or off as well as your pairing button. Moving to the top you’ll see the volume up and down, which for me was a little backwards having the up in the rear while the down up front, but didn’t take long to get used to. Along the bottom we see the hidden micro USB charging port, and NesBeat is boasting 8 hours of continuous playing, which is normal on this end of earphones, but after testing them I found them to be almost 9 hours of life with one charge. They also say that with a 15 min charge it will give you an hour of play time, great for those times you need a quick charge.

 These also come equipped with a microphone which allows you to take calls, although while testing, my wife said that I sounded muffled or like I was on speaker phone, so not perfect, but works in a pinch. As well as being sweat resistant, and after testing, they worked great.

 They also say that they are Noise Canceling but I couldn’t really tell that they were, unless I turned the volume way up.

As the volume goes they have a wide range, very loud to the point it is too loud to listen to anything, all the way to muting, so its got a great volume control.

As far as the sound quality, I compared them to me other wireless earbuds and they actually sounded more rounded, now they are no Senheiser, or Bose, but for this price they work great. At no point was I really missing any of the range from the bass to the high tones, the range is very wide and sounded great.

After testing the Shape5 I can honestly say that these earphones are worth the price that NesBeat is selling them for, again, they are no Bose or Sennheiser but for this price, you can’t beat what NesBeat is putting out.

We need another HDMI converter for the kids room, so came across this product and decided to give it a try. It was packaged well and arrived very quickly. The item was packaged well in a nice cardboard box to ensure it doesn't get damaged during transit. The instruction manual is easy to follow, I was able to set up quickly and did not run into any problems. So far the converter is pretty stable when I'm using the media console and tv. I did have the USB cable plugged in just for your reference. Will update review if I notice anything different.


I'm not really that tech savvy and was a bit nervous purchasing this device. I had bought cables in the past and they did not work, so when I went back to Best Buy they told me it wasn't the cables that change the signals but the converter themselves. Cables themselves don’t do the converting, the converter does that. The converter will basically change the HDMI, a digital signal, to RCA, an analog signal. So don’t just buy the cables, you need the converter, otherwise, it won’t work. After I connected my cables to this converter, everything worked out! It wasn't as complicated at all and plus this converter was 1/2 the price of Best Buy's.

super easy to use! i been looking for an alternative for my parent's tv as it only had one HDMI input and was being used for an asian TV box. I tried a HDMI splitter to add an apple TV but as my parents are older, it confusing for them to use another gadgets other than their remote. When i was browsing through the amazon looking for an alternative and i cam across the Ddida HDMI converter...which is pretty awesome as i can use the existing RCA input for the apple TV and my parents can just switch the input using their TV remote. These are cozy and have enough cushion to keep my heels comfy on our hard wood/tile floors when I'm working around the house. Ordered a 10-11 and they are fairly roomy on my US women's 11 feet. I appreciate that they don't have a hard rubber sole like most memory foam slippers I've seen.

These are very comfy slippers, very soft, and fit well. They don't provide a lot of support, but they are great for tv watching or hanging out around the house. Very nice product and I love the way they feel on my feet. I wear a size, and both of us can wear them with no problem

They are very soft and cute, but I thought there was going to be more cushioning on the bottom. When I walked around with the shoes, I felt like I was walking on the floor. The color is also more gray than how it appears online.

These slippers are super comfy, cute and keep my feet warm. I wanted a pair of slippers that weren't plush or "furry" so they would be easy to wipe off and clean unlike my last pair. The only thing I don't like is that they are a little noisy as I'm shuffling around the hardwood floors.

I mix this with green tea or water before I drive to work. I've tried the neutral and orange flavor so far and they both taste okay but I generally mix the neutral with water and orange with cold green tea. The orange flavor is noticeable but not overwhelming.

Both provided a small energy boost at first (probably because I was vitamin deficient) but after using this for a few weeks the boost went away.

Regardless, there's no way I'm going to get 7 servings of vegetables a day if I don't drink this stuff. And even if I tried, I would have to eat 5 or 6 different types of veg to get all of the nutrients in Natrogix. But I'm just not a vegetable guy. When I think about what I want to eat, it's hardly ever a vegetable.

So I'm glad I found Natrogix and I can go back to not thinking about vegetables.

I love the taste! It's so wonderful to combine the flavor of orange with greens. I usually add this to smoothies, but it can be put in just plain water (as shown). If you add it to water, you do need to stir, or whisk it as you drink.

The only reason for 1 less star is that I wish it was filled up more. I wouldn't even care if they charged more for it, or if they used a smaller container. I just like as little waist in packaging as possible.

Hair Cutting Set

I used this to fix a uneven haircut and my hair looks perfect. It holds hair much better than the "crea" brand clips. I have shoulder length hair and gathered it all to the crown and used the clip sideways from front to back( looks like a mohawk) and made the cut. The scissors worked just fine to cut through also. I now have a perfect layered cut that is not at all choppy looking.

I am very pleased with this purchase - it was easy to use and I obtained great results. My only suggestion to the vendor is to provide a link to the youtube video (s) mentioned in previous product reviews. The one I found for this company was 41 seconds long with no real instructions. I referred to a video for a similar product for instruction.

I got this set because my oldest daughter was not happy with the salon always cutting her hair shorter than she wanted. After looking up several diy tutorials, she gained enough confidence to trim her bangs herself (originally she was going to have me do it). She wanted a specific look, length, and thickness and the clips with the levels helped tremendously. After you have your hair in the clip how it needs to be, you can take your time clipping the hair. At first the levels confused me, but after thinking about it, they make a lot of sense, and are very helpful.

The pink clip is for a straight cut and the white clip is for curved cuts. There are two pairs of scissors included in this kit. One pair is for regular cuts and the other pair is for thinning, layering, and fringe cuts. Both scissors have a good weight to them and there is a screw on them so you can tighten and loosen to suit your own needs.

An important tip I have is to not try to cut too much hair in the same snip. Smaller snips will be easier and more accurate.

I need workout gloves for the gym and my hands are on the smaller side. So I ordered a small thinking they would fit well..but even the small were a bit large for me. Even though they are adjustable they are still a bit to big to use. I guess the glove run big? If you have medium sized hands it looks like these would fit well. So in terms of quality they feel pretty comfortable and seem like they are holding up with mild to moderate workouts. I wish they gloves were more size specific. I would say the s/m gloves only work for a medium sized hand. But other than the sizing issues the workout gloves are comfortable and are holding up nicely.

Epique Beauty Nano Ionic Facial Steamer

I absolutely love this facial steamer! It works so well and is made very well. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the quality of the plastic of each piece. I got this because I have combination skin and I think because in New England we're changing seasons to fall and my skin always breaks out when the season is changing. I have also been wanting one for a while...but now it was officially time!

I have used this twice so far and it was fabulous. I like to remove my make up with a make removing cloth because I am so into reusable products. I can't stand disposable products and tr to replace things like make-up removing wipes or a makeup removing solution that will eventually get empty with reusable products to save money. So I wash my face at the sink to save on water as opposed to in the shower to get the nice steam effect that opens your pores. So I was so very excited to wipe my makeup off at the sink and then be able to do a facial steamer to open my pores before AND during my facial scrub with my facial brush. It not only feels nice and warm (remember it's getting cold here right now!) but you can definitely feel it opening your pores.I even like to hold my facial brush up to the steamer for a second so it can warm and then scrub my problem areas. It feels amazing just like if you were to put a hot towel on. I immediately noticed a reduction in the size of my pores after doing all this.

I agree with other reviews that you can't get too close because it is steam...so you will most certainly hurt or burn your face. The second time I used this I had a similar routine, but instead, I put a face mask on after washing my face. I opened my pores right up with this and applied my pineapple enzyme facial mask! It felt wonderful.

I haven't used the towel steamer yet, but I'm sure at some point I will. My bf was impressed this little steamer could do so many things! I also haven't used the extractor tools. To be honest I am a little scared to because sometimes I tend to get carried away thinking, "oh these won't ruin my skin!" but when you start picking...it always looks worse the next day!

I am so incredibly happy I got this. The only thing I wish it had was a handle so I could use it as a clothing steamer too! The only other thing is when your fingers are wet it is difficult to turn the dial of the steamer because you fingers slide and can't fully grip it...but this thing is awesome so I can def live with that!
